'It offers an alternative view of “local and foreign” aspects, presenting heritage focused on rural life. The collection represents a way of life still present just a few kilometers from Ituzaingó. Rural Museum “Governor Manuel Ignacio Lagraña”

History

The museum is located in an old house built in 1874. It was created on April 27, 1988 by a local government decision. It was named after Governor Manuel Ignacio Lagraña, who ruled the province of Corrientes from 1862 to 1865. During his term, the law that created the city of Ituzaingó was passed.

The museum officially opened on August 12, 2004. It shows local and regional history, especially rural life.

Heritage

The building is an extension of the old Social Club and has a modern façade.

The museum displays old objects donated by traditional families. These items have high historical and cultural value. It’s a must-see for anyone wanting to learn about Ituzaingó’s past.

The collection shows how rural life still exists near the city. You’ll find tools, kitchen items, clothes, hunting weapons, and objects from country homes.

The tour starts with rooms that look like a traditional rural home. Outside, in the yard, there are tools used for farming and cattle work. There’s also a hall with old transportation, like carts, and farm machines.

Memory Museum

Next to it is the Memory Museum, dedicated to important people: from the town’s founder to political and cultural leaders and early families. It includes old objects, myths and legends, and everyday items used by those people.
