Old Port of Ituzaingó
Location: Froilán Pérez and Paraná River Cliffs.
It was the first place where people from Ituzaingó traded and connected with other towns.
Long ago, everything happened at the port. People from the island came to sell their products, and many boats arrived. Sailors brought energy and movement to the town.
From 1864 to 1976, the port was very important. More than 30 cargo and passenger boats transported goods from Corrientes and Misiones by river. Later, land transport became more common and replaced river transport.
Today, the port is a historical place. Many fishers visit it. It has a floating dock from 1927. The AGUATUR office is there, taking passengers to Apipé Grande Island on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Also, a new boat now brings island residents to Ituzaingó for free, thanks to a project by Senator Alicia Kirchner.
The port is also a great spot for water sports like sailing, canoeing, water skiing, kayaking, jet skiing, and fishing.
You can see many plants like palm trees, lapachos, willows, laurel, bamboo, ingá, and cedar. Animals include hummingbirds, parrots, kingfishers, iguanas, and frogs.
